The two universities attempt to provide equal funding for students regardless of which university they enter. Full-time graduate students at both universities are automatically considered for teaching assistantships and scholarships.
At Guelph, the largest source of support is through teaching assistantships. Students admitted to Guelph with an A average also receive university, and in some cases, external scholarships. Most students will have an opportunity to apply for additional teaching assistantships, in accordance with the collective agreement of the teaching assistants’ union. Most graduate students at Waterloo get some financial assistance, and if a student has an OGS award the university pays for the amount which must be contributed above the provincial scholarship. For details, please visit the following sites.
